Indhiya Tholaikatchigalil Muthal Murayaaga...!!!

Okay, the heading above when translated becomes " For the first time in Indian televeision...!!! " . Its not long before that I was pretty much amused or rather astonished looking at the frequency at which foreign language films are dubbed left and right in tamil. Just a couple of months back I happenned to watch this "so called" dubbed movie in Star Vijay..... man that was an experience in itself. No I am not going to share my experience..... rather I would want you guys to go through it, trust me, its worth it... !!! Though there are just four pre-requisites,

1) In depth knowledge of the Tamil language. The "in depth knowledge" is translated understanding the basics like kaitha, kasmalam, baudu and other such family damaging material.

2)You gotto have hell of balls to sit through the movie.

3) The perseverance within you to make sure you throw your tv remote out of the window so that you don't switch the channel, or as a better idea not to hang yourselves upside down.

4) Here comes the major one, have a bottle of quarter MC, which will make you comfortably numb.

Yeah...now comes the strange part... though it came as a crazy forward to me with some funny translations, its the nomenclature these guys follow for these movies. The genuine doubt I have is, do these movies come under the tax scanners ??? If not, then I tell you these guys are just awesome mavericks doing a helluva job...!!! So some of the names that really amused me are, though not all are duds :

1. Velaikku Avaathu - Mission Impossible
2. Karuttha Machan - Men in Black
3. Paayum puli, Padungum pambu - Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
4.Oatta Machan - Hollow Man ( though the actual movie was called Mayamanidhan) and the list continues..... !!!

I really appreciate the crude humour they project, for example, there is Sean Connery speeding down a road in a fancy white car yelling, "Roada paathu cara ootu da baadu" (in "7 Dhalapathigal", also known as "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen"). Man..... I tell you he really gives our "Gabdan Vijaykanth" and "dhesiavaathi Arjun" a run for their money..... !!!

Just imagine, a scene from 'Mummy' , where an improperly embalmed mummy looking more like my college staffs shouts at the audience " buhuah ha ha haaaa.....Naan unne ippo sapide poren...!!! " or our James Bond introducing himself as " Aaei.....en paeru baandu.....james baandu... ".

And in this movie called Maayamanidhan (Hollow Man), the hero goes in search of the villain and shouts with his full vengeance that can dissolve your balls, saying " Enge.....enge andha thevdiya paiyyan....!!!" Bingo, did you hear that........ Whoa....this stuff rocks man..... trust me if you are really having a bad weekend with nothing to do and you just do not want to move a single muscle of yours.... Star Vijay rrrrrocksss...... !!!
